Notice to Players

 

The USGA Rules of Golf and the JAGA Local Rules are in effect as supplemented by this Notice.  Ignore any local rules posted at the club or on the scorecard.

 

Competition: Amateurs, 54 holes of stroke play from the BLUE tee markers

  Senior Championship, 54 holes from the WHITE tee markers

  Senior Field, 36 holes from the YELLOW tee markers

  Super Seniors, 36 holes from the YELLOW tee markers

Ties:  For gross winners of each division, will be decided by hole-by-hole playoff on hole(s) to be determined by the Committee.

Out of Bounds: Defined by white lines or stakes, on or across paved roads, edge of penalty area on homeowners’ side, outside edge of cart path on hole #5 and inside edge of cart path on hole #9 between the white stakes with blue tops.

Coquina/Natural areas: On holes 4, 10, 12, 14, 16, 17, 18 they are in the general area, no relief for embedded balls.

Wooden bulkheads: Within penalty areas, bulkheads are integral, no relief

Immovable obstruction near putting green:  For balls in a closely mown area, relief may be taken if an obstruction (usually a sprinkler head) is in the line of intended play and within two club lengths of the ball and the green. Ball must be dropped within a club-length of the nearest point of relief, no closer to the hole, and in the general area (not on the green).

Drop zone: As an additional option for balls known or virtually certain to be in a penalty area, a drop zone is available near the forward tee on hole #15.

Playing two balls: Rule 20.1c(3) If in doubt of rights or procedure, player may play two balls.  Announce intent to marker, choose which ball will count, play both balls, report the situation to the Committee before returning score card.  Failure to report results in disqualification.

Pace of play: If a group reaches a tee and there are no other players on that hole, the group is deemed out of position.  When it is a player’s turn, she will have 40 seconds to play a shot.  1st bad time-1 penalty stroke; 2nd bad time-2 penalty strokes; 3rd bad time- subject to disqualification.  Players will be notified when being timed.

Suspension of play for dangerous conditions: One long siren blast is the signal to cease play immediately.  All practice is prohibited until approved by the Committee.

Scoring: Return scorecards to scoring area inside the clubhouse.
